Introduction

All set for 29th March?

We’ll all be a little rusty and be sharing a common anticipation and excitement of what lies ahead.  A little apprehensive perhaps?

Once we’ve played a few holes will we lose that feeling of relief to be playing again, that feeling of gratitude?

So what are your expectations?

Below is an exercise to check to see if our expectations match our ability. If they don’t and we have higher expectations than our ability to deliver, chances are we’ll get quite frustrated and our mood will change for the worst which will have a detrimental effect on our performance.

Expectations

There are two attachments. Please fill out the first two columns, then consult the second document and fill out column 3 (probably easier if you print the first document).

So give it a go, be honest and see how your expectations match up with the average for your handicap.

For example, if you are an 18 handicapper, what would your expectations be of fairways hit? 60% perhaps, well the average for an 18 handicapper is actually 40%.

We will all differ a bit from the averages. I’m strong for fairways hit for my handicap but relatively weak for Greens in Regulation….

Summary

It’s a great exercise for assessing:

Where am I now?

Where do I want to be?

Where are the weak areas which will then help us devise a plan to suit your needs.

If you need any help completing the questionnaire, just let me know and we can do it together.
